Embrace the Healing Power of Bacteria in June! 🌞🌿

If you're on a journey to shed extra pounds, heal your gut, and achieve optimal health, understanding the impact of various bacteria strains might just be the missing piece to your weight loss puzzle. Let's explore how certain gut bacteria, such as Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus helveticus and Bifidobacterium infantis, Lactobacillus plantarum, and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, can make a difference.

As I immersed myself in the captivating realm of gut bacteria research, I stumbled upon fascinating information about specific strains that hold the potential to enhance mood, diminish inflammation, and foster overall well-being.

The above yogurt is not easy to locate. Only place I’ve found it is Erewhon. Which makes Whole Foods seem like The Dollar Store in comparison. I ran the numbers, Fermenting your own yogurt total supply cost=$56.88 which could produce up to 75x the amount you would receive in one of these jars of store bought.

The supplies are as follows: Digital yogurt maker on amazon=$39.56, (when purchasing a yogurt maker the model needs to be able to ferment as low as 100 degrees Fahrenheit and if you can go lower than 100, even better for additional strains of Bacteria), 3 cans of coconut milk (no guar gum or additives in the ingredients) = $8.91, add another $8.41 for Organic Inulin Fiber or another type of Prebiotic Fiber.

Simply repurchase coconut milk, goat milk, or dairy milk each time, and you can easily ferment homemade yogurt at a fraction of the cost compared to the 16 servings mentioned below. However, it's important to note that the 16 servings claim turned out to be misleading, as I only obtained 4 servings from this jar.

I suggest learning how to Ferment your own at home. It's a breeze, budget-friendly, and gives you the freedom to choose the specific bacteria you desire in your yogurt, based on the temperature you set in the yogurt maker during the fermentation process.

How do we know the differences between the various strains and what we would most want?

  • Lactobacillus rhamnosus: The Mood Booster Ever experienced stress-induced anxiety or mood swings that hinder your weight loss journey? Lactobacillus rhamnosus could be your ally. Emerging research suggests that this strain has the potential to reduce anxiety and improve mood. By fostering a healthier gut environment, L. rhamnosus might help you overcome emotional eating and maintain a positive mindset throughout your weight loss transformation.

  • Bifidobacterium longum: Finding Balance Depressive symptoms and stress can often derail weight loss efforts. Enter Bifidobacterium longum, a strain associated with improved mood and reduced stress responses. By promoting a balanced gut microbiota and reducing inflammation, B. longum might create an environment conducive to overall well-being and weight management.

  • Lactobacillus helveticus and Bifidobacterium infantis: The Dynamic Duo: Depression and anxiety can sabotage even the most dedicated weight loss plans. Fortunately, the combination of Lactobacillus helveticus and Bifidobacterium infantis has shown promising results in alleviating symptoms of depression and anxiety, ultimately improving mood. These strains may help restore emotional balance and provide the mental fortitude needed to overcome hurdles on your weight loss journey.

  • Lactobacillus plantarum: The Gut-Brain Connection: When striving for weight loss, we mustn't overlook the gut-brain axis. Lactobacillus plantarum has been under scrutiny for its potential anti-inflammatory effects and influence on the gut-brain axis. By reducing inflammation and positively impacting neurotransmitter activity, L. plantarum might aid in managing symptoms of depression and anxiety, helping you stay focused and motivated.

  • Faecalibacterium prausnitzii: The Mental Well-being Supporter: As we strive for weight loss, maintaining mental well-being is crucial. Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, although not a strain itself, has been associated with reduced inflammation and improved mental health. Lower levels of this beneficial bacterium have been observed in individuals with depression. By fostering a healthy gut environment, F. prausnitzii might play a role in supporting your overall mental well-being during your weight loss journey.

Embarking on a weight loss or healing journey can be challenging, but understanding the impact of specific gut bacteria strains, such as Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Bifidobacterium longum, Lactobacillus helveticus and Bifidobacterium infantis, Lactobacillus plantarum, and Faecalibacterium prausnitzii, can provide an added advantage. While more research is needed to establish definitive recommendations, these strains show promise in influencing mood, reducing inflammation, and supporting mental well-being.

I’ll explore how exactly we can obtain these mood-enhancing strains in future blog posts via my home experiments and further research in the field.
